The UK went wedding mad and everyone in the media wanted a sound bite on how to ensure the day would be a success?at the end it was a perfect day!
This is of course a very rare and isolated event, but it?s probably true to say that many of us occasionally get so caught up in our relationships (or our lack of one) that we forget what else is going on in our lives and in our world. There?s no doubt that being in a loving relationship is an ambition for many people and when relationships go wrong it can affect every area of our life. But when we?re feeling emotionally overwhelmed, focussing on the other areas of our life and the lives of others can often be the fastest route to resuming our balance and getting life in perspective.
There are many potential sources of contentment and fulfilment in life. Career, family, friends, our environment, caring for others, championing a cause, spirituality, personal development and countless other things can all give a sense of purpose and joy to our lives. And there are days when we can?t think about anything other than our relationship. But like Will & Kate, the wedding day is over and it?s time to get on with the rest of their lives.
