South Charlotte Prep Sports: Softball and private school girls ...

Another round of high school playoff brackets came out this week with many first round games scheduled for tonight. Many have already been postponed due See Prep Insiders for a list of postponed games.)

Here's how the playoffs look for south Charlotte teams.

NCHSAA softball

After winning the Southwestern 4A tournament, Ardrey Kell has the conference's top seed in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A softball playoffs. The Knights play Greensboro Page in the first round.

No. 2 seed Independence plays at home against Dudley in the first round and No. 3 Butler travels to Southwest Guilford. Ardrey Kell and Butler could meet in the second round.

No. 4 Providence will travel to North Davidson and the fifth-seeded Myers Park will travel to T.C. Roberson.

In the 3A bracket, Charlotte Catholic, the top seed from the Me-Ga 7, will host West Rowan.

NCISAA 3A softball

Charlotte Country Day, Charlotte Latin and Providence Day made it into the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A softball tournament. The tournament, which is a double elimination format, starts today at North Raleigh Christian Academy.

Providence Day is the No. 4 seed and will play Charlotte Latin, the fifth seed, in the first round. No. 8 Charlotte Country Day will play top-seeded Cannon School in the first round.

NCISAA girls' lacrosse

Charlotte Country Day grabbed the top seed of the NCISAA girls' lacrosse tournament, which starts today. They will host No. 8 Greensboro Day in the first round.

Charlotte Latin is the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 Cape Fear Academy. No. 7 Providence Day travels to No. 2 Ravenscroft in the first round.
